My father owns 2 shops in city. It is very hard to manage them. From last 7-8 years an honest, smart boy named Hari helps in whole stuff of maintaining accounts and handling customers whenever he is out of station or busy in some urgent business stuff. Being good at numbers he is very fast at accounting
Hari is tall, slim but smart guy. He is like our family member. Whether it is rush of relatives during Diwali or mamma needs his help during sickness, Hari always help us. Truly, it is hard to imagine to complete stuffs without Hari.
One day during a party arranged by my father Hari was handled responsibility to serve all guests. One police commissioner-one of father's good friend- was also there. He asked us in low voice,
"From how many days this is working at your home?"
"Oh, Hari. He is now like our family member. He helps me from last 7-8 years", father replied.
"Well, I sad to inform you that he is one of wanted criminal."
We were amazed to here that. We never had any case relented to negligence from Hari.
He started telling his story.
Hari born in middle class family of Rampur village. He became orphan due to Hindu-Muslim riots when he was just 14 years old. As no one was there to look after him, Hari had to arrange his own bread and butter. Also, being intelligent, he wanted to continue education. It was impossible for him to do anything without money. Unfortunately he decided to go by wrong way of pick-pocketing. Later on to as more money was needed for living he started looting people on national highway. One day after completing education upto 12th, he came to city and took job at our shop.
We asked time to commissioner to think upon arresting him. On that night my father and I was spent whole night on thinking on this issue. Really, it was hard to take one of our family member. At last, he did everything for fulfilling his needs and now he was leading simple, honest life from 8 years. It would be wrong to cheat him by allowing police to arrest him. My other mind would say: though he is leading honest life now, he chose wrong, unethical path to get here. He could have done more hard work by doing any part-time job and hence fulfilled his dreams. He must have to get punishment for his past mistakes.
Friends, can you tell me what to do?
